INOCULANTS

Standard Inoculants

For Gray Iron and Ductile Iron

75% Ferrosilicon - Calcium Bearing
75% Ferrosilicon with controlled levels of calcium and aluminum and is used as a ladle addition.

Proprietary Inoculants

For Gray Iron

ZMS (Zirconium, Manganese, Silicon)

A high performance 60% to 65% ferrosilicon inoculant containing 5% manganese and 5% zirconium and used as a ladle addition.

Sphere-o-dox G

A patented, potent oxy-sulfide containing inoculant formulated for gray iron which can be used either as a ladle or down-sprue addition.

Inocu-Bloc

Inocu-Bloc
A patented, oxy-sulfide containing inoculant in form of a tablet. It is used as and "inmold" inoculant, placed either in the sprue well or on a filter.

For Ductile Irons

Sphere-o-dox S

A patented, potent oxy-sulfide containing inoculant formulated for gray iron which can be used either as a ladle or down-sprue addition.

Ductile Iron Nodulizing Alloys

Magnesium Ferrosilicon

Magnesium containing ferrosilicon; magnesium levels are available in the following ranges: 3.25% to 4.0%, 4.0% to 5.0%, 5.0% to 6.5% in 0.5% increments
Ranges of other ingredients are:
Total Rare Earths - 0.50% to 2.0% in 0.5% increments
Calcium 0.075% to 1.5% in 0.5% increments
Aluminum 0.75% to 1.25% in 0.5% increments

Nodu-Bloc

An iron magnesium briquette which is used in conjunction with magnesium to control silicon contents as well as reduce treatment costs. Treatment cost reductions on the order of $1.00 to $2.50 per net ton are easily achievable with Nodu-Bloc briquettes. Additional information on Nodu-Bloc can be obtained by clicking on Ductile Iron News location at the Ductile Iron Web Site: www.ductile.org.
